Clare - Managing Director & Senior Floral Designer
Clare completed a Floristry Course at Judith Blacklock Flower School in Knightsbridge and various workshops with Per Benjamin and Metz. Clare started Girl Flower from home doing flowers for family and friends. Clare decided she wanted to take Girl Flower further and opened the retail premises in March 2006.
Clare plays a pivotal role within Girl Flower and oversees all areas of the business. Clare has a talent for innovative ideas for Weddings and personal designs for Funerals. Clare is proud of the achievements of the shop and her team since they opened especially scooping the Gold Award for Flower Shop of the Year 2007.
Clare is going back to college this September to complete the
Higher Diploma in Floristry Level 4. She is excited about
meeting new people to exchange ideas and experiences along with
learning some new techniques.
Carly - Shop Manager & Floral Designer
Carly has had experience within the retail industry. Carly decided to retrain as a florist when she heard about Clare's career change and also trained at Judith Blacklock Flower School. Carly has a flair for Hand Ties and a good eye for colour coupled with her excellent customer service skills this makes her a great member of the team and Shop Manager.
Lorraine - Floral Designer
Lorraine is the newest member of the team; she joined Girl Flower in April 2008 and is a great asset to the business with training from Paula Pryke and Sells Flower School in Crystal Palace and 5 years experience within Floral Design. Lorraine has a great imagination for creating distinctive designs and flourishes in all areas of floral design. Lorraine particularly enjoys originating Festive Christmas Designs.
Phoebe - Trainee Floral Designer
We would like to welcome Phoebe back to Girl Flower, she completed two weeks work experience back in 2007 and recently became a permanent member of the team. Phoebe has just completed her A Levels and has achieved grades to be proud of. She particularly excelled in Textiles and is starting College in September to complete a course in Fashion & Textiles Design. However her creativity does not stop there, Phoebe has great enthusiasm for all things beautiful including flowers and is currently being trained in-house and will be attending part-time courses for Floral Design.
Mary-Jane - Trainee Floral Designer
Mary-Jane Started at Girl Flower on Work Experience back in June 2009, just one day per week, she is now a permanent fixture and even has her own Mug! MJ completed NVQ Level 2 in Floristry in 2008 & is currently studying for her Level 3 at the new Mid Kent College campus. Mary-Jane is a keen and enthusiastic member of the Girl Flower Team, she enjoys all areas of floristry and particularly likes learning new skills and techniques.
